Lynn Shapiro Snyder serves as an advisor and advocate on behalf of clients through two consultancies focused on the health care and life sciences industry:

EBG Advisors, Inc., is a Washington, DC-based consultancy that takes a multidisciplinary approach to helping health care and life sciences companies navigate the many obstacles that they face. EBG Advisors is a network of health policy analysts, strategists, certified coders, former medical directors of managed care plans, and other professionals who specialize in providing coordinated guidance and solutions across various segments of the health care industry.

National Health Advisors is a consultancy dedicated to the provision of federal legislative and regulatory advocacy. No other consultancy matches National Health Advisors’ depth of expertise in helping a wide range of organizations navigate and influence policies that affect the U.S. health care system. National Health Advisors gives health, education, and not-for-profit institutions a strong voice in the halls of Congress and throughout federal administrative agencies.

Experience

  • Serves as lead health care deal counsel for private equity firms and strategic partners, including as lead health regulatory counsel for the buyout of HCA by three private equity firms; the buyout of Biomet; and the creation of Ascensia globally, among many others.
  • Leads the defense of claims of health care fraud in Medicare/Medicaid False Claims Act investigations and litigation at the federal and state levels. Lynn has defended one of the largest pharmaceutical firms, one of the largest home health service firms, and one of the largest respiratory services firms.
  • Counsels all types of health care providers, including payors and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Lynn has advised on regulatory requirements for clients’ innovations in telemedicine and artificial intelligence.
  • Advises clients on strategies for Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, VA, and commercial payors. Areas of Lynn’s counsel also include coding, coverage, and payment issues and new payment methods, such as accountable care and pay for value, as well as HCPCS codes, CPT codes, J codes, and Q codes.
  • Represents national and state health care trade associations on policy issues and trends, including drafting federal and state legislation, advocacy documents, and studies to support policy positions.
