She brings to bear her nearly 10 years of experience as an in-house health care generalist and skilled negotiator to help clients achieve their business strategy and objectives.
A trusted advisor, Nivedita provides legal counsel and strategic business advice on state and federal health care fraud and abuse laws and regulations, including HIPAA, the Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute. Clients also count on her to guide them through the health regulatory issues involved in their mergers, acquisitions, and other health care transactions and assist them with all facets of health regulatory due diligence. Nivedita has significant experience handling the legal aspects of physician practice acquisitions and is skilled at structuring deals and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating required contracts.
Before transitioning to private practice, Nivedita served as Associate General Counsel of the largest independent, nonprofit, multispecialty physician practice in Washington, DC. In that role, she worked closely with executive leadership to structure and negotiate a variety of complex arrangements with hospitals and physician practice partners. She also participated in working groups related to various initiatives, including the development of new physician compensation models, participation in accountable care organizations, and strategic reviews of ongoing relationships with partner hospitals and a university.
