New York, NY (May 30, 2018) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that Janene Marasciullo and Eric W. Moran have joined as Members of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management and Litigation & Business Disputes practices. As former federal prosecutors, both Ms. Marasciullo and Mr. Moran bring extensive trial experience to the firm, having served in the Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Attorney’s Office, respectively. Their backgrounds and skills add to the firm’s deep trial bench.
Ms. Marasciullo is a former trial attorney in the Civil Division and the Tax Division of the DOJ, and joins EBG from an international law firm, where she was Chair of the Securities Industry Litigation Group. She has extensive first-chair experience litigating complex commercial, fraud, trade secret, regulatory, and employment disputes, with a particular emphasis on disputes arising within the financial services industry. In addition, she defends employers in discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower disputes, and represents clients in restrictive covenant disputes. She also represents clients during regulatory and grand jury investigations. While at the DOJ, Ms. Marasciullo won multiple performance awards, including the Civil Division’s Special Commendation Award. In addition, she previously worked in the Enforcement Department and the Office of General Counsel at the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), the predecessor to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where she investigated and prosecuted violations of NASD rules and federal securities laws and helped formulate NASD policies and practices. While at NASD, Ms. Marasciullo won the President’s Award for her work on the Mutual Funds Breakpoints Task Force. Ms. Marasciullo also served as Senior Corporate Counsel for a global manufacturing company, where she ran the international trade compliance program and oversaw all litigation. She began her legal career as a judicial clerk to the Honorable D. Brooks Smith while he was a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Moran joins EBG after serving for 10 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, most recently as Co-Chief of its Criminal Division. During his career at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Moran successfully tried numerous cases, including fraud and corruption trials of the Philadelphia District Attorney and the Mayor of Trenton, New Jersey. Mr. Moran served as Attorney-in-Charge of the Trenton Branch Office, and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, where he oversaw the Economic Crimes, Asset Forfeiture, and General Crimes Units. Mr. Moran also served as an AUSA in the Special Prosecutions Division, where he investigated and prosecuted sensitive bribery, extortion, fraud, and money laundering cases involving public officials. At EBG, Mr. Moran will represent clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including business and banking disputes; defend clients in white-collar criminal matters; advise clients on anticipating, managing, and mitigating legal and regulatory issues related to white-collar enforcement; and represent clients in employment-related litigation matters. Earlier in his career, Mr. Moran served judicial clerkships with former U.S. Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz and U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chelser, both of the District of New Jersey. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University School of Law, where he teaches a course titled “White Collar Crime.”
