Frances M. Green

Drawing on decades of experience as a trial lawyer and trusted counselor, Fran Green counsels global clients on navigating the complexities of regulatory and compliance governance in cybersecurity and data privacy.

She also advises on the opportunities and legal challenges presented by the design and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in consumer-facing operations and within the employment life cycle.

Her clients span a broad range of industries, including finance, retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

Experience in Data Privacy, Corporate Governance, and Workforce Management

Fran’s experience includes:

• Guiding corporate compliance and risk assessment executives through the creation and implementation of data and information privacy programs and policies, with a particular focus on the use of disruptive technologies and AI. She holds a Master of Laws in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as an AI Governance Professional.
• Advising management and corporate boards of multinational and domestic corporations on corporate governance and the infusion and utilization of disruptive technologies in the workplace and consumer applications.
• Litigating on behalf of domestic and global financial institutions and corporations in federal and state courts and before various federal securities exchanges in all aspects of workforce management.

Strategic Counsel on AI Governance and Ethical Implementation

As an AI Governance Professional, Fran advises clients on the integration of AI into consumer-facing operations and the attendant training to reskill and upskill their workforces.

Fran brings to bear skills and knowledge gleaned from completion of the Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management on the implications of AI in strategic organizational development as she guides and counsels organizations and their executives to ensure safety and trust in the development and deployment of ethical AI and the challenges of the interoperability of data privacy and cybersecurity.

Leadership in AI Standards, Risk, and Innovation

Fran utilizes her advanced legal degree in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy as a featured contributor on disruptive technologies for ALM’s New York Law Journal and is privileged to be a member of the risk assessment and management working group of The Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) at the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). CAISI is tasked with developing the testing, evaluations, and guidelines that will assist public and private organizations in accelerating safe and secure AI innovation in the United States and around the world.

Additionally, Fran is a working group member of the Society of Actuaries’ Actuarial Innovation and Technology Strategic Research Institute. As a contributor within the technology community, Fran is an Advisor to a global investment fund specializing in AI and related technologies in the health care and life sciences spaces.

Cross-Cultural and International Business Experience

Conversant in Japanese—having studied and worked in Japan as a vowed nun—Fran has presented before the Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) in Tokyo and Osaka, the Japan Society, and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her lectures have focused on corporate localization in the United States and the attendant legal risks and opportunities, including those arising from AI deployment, cybersecurity, and privacy.

Author, Advocate, and Community Leader

Fran joined Michelle Obama, J.K. Rowling, Barbara Walters, Maya Angelou, Suze Orman, and other women leaders as a contributor to The Goddess Shift: Women Leading for a Change, edited by Stephanie Marohn and published by Elite Books. In connection with the book’s publication, she was featured on a national cable television morning show, along with Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis, to discuss the chapters they contributed. The book won the USA Book News "Best Books 2010" award in the Women's Issues category and was a finalist in the Anthologies Nonfiction category. Royalties from the sale of the book continue to be used to support non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of girls and young women: Capacitar, Tostan, and the Global Fund for Women.

Currently, Fran serves on the Advisory Council of the Japan Society Board of Directors and is an Advisory Board member of Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC) and a member of its Technology, AI, and Innovation Committee. She was also a Board of Directors member of the Grace Institute and is a cofounder of Epstein Becker Green’s Women’s Initiative.

Accomplished Equestrian and Rowing Enthusiast

Fran is an award-winning equestrian and was privileged to serve within the New York City boroughs as an Auxiliary Mounted New York Parks Officer and on the Board of the New York City Parks Mounted Auxiliary, a 501(c)(3) foundation supporting the New York City community and the New York City Parks Mounted Enforcement Unit.

Fran enjoys indoor and outdoor rowing and racing and has medaled in the Indoor U.S. and World Rowing Championships.
