This week, we look at a range of pay disclosure requirements that have come into effect in New York and New Jersey in the second half of 2022.
Pay Disclosure Requirements Growing for New York and New Jersey Employers
All employers in Jersey City, New Jersey, with more than five employees are required to include salary ranges in job postings and have been since June 15. A similar job-posting wage disclosure ordinance took effect on September 1 in Ithaca, New York, and employers in New York City and Westchester County are preparing for pay disclosure requirements to take effect in early November.
In addition to these local requirements coming into effect, on the final day of this year’s session, the New York State Legislature passed a bill to extend salary disclosure requirements across the state.
