Chicago, IL (January 16, 2019) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that James J. Oh has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice, in its Chicago office. Mr. Oh, who joins the firm from Littler, where he had served on its Board of Directors, represents employers in various industries, including financial services and insurance, in high-stakes employment cases across the country.

“Jimmy brings significant management-side employment litigation experience to our practice,” said David W. Garland, Chair of EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Steering Committee. “Clients and peers speak highly of his keen sense of judgement, and excellent track record of success in employment disputes covering a broad range of issues.”

“As I considered moving my practice, it was evident that EBG had the type of culture that I was looking for with a terrific group of smart, collegial, and collaborative attorneys,” said Mr. Oh. “EBG’s size and focus are such that you can provide exceptional service and value to your clients.  I am excited about the opportunity to do that and help grow the firm in Chicago.”

Peter A. Steinmeyer, the Chicago office Managing Shareholder, added that, “Jimmy is a great addition and will add to the overall growth and success of EBG’s national workforce management practice.”

Mr. Oh has published numerous articles and made presentations on a variety of employment law topics, including wage and hour compliance, class action certification, and sexual harassment. He also has given speeches on developments in wage and hour class action law; classifying employees properly under the FLSA; the interplay between the ADA, the FMLA, and workers' compensation laws; and conducting internal investigations.

Mr. Oh has been chosen by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© (2015 to 2019); selected to the Illinois Super Lawyers list (2005 to 2013 and 2015 to 2019) in the field of Employment & Labor; named a 2014 Rainmaker by Diversity & the BarMagazine; received the 2012 International Law Office’s Client Choice Award in Employment & Labor; and earned an AV® Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
