2021 Reif Fellowship Winner

Washington, DC (April 23, 2021) – Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce that Alan Grose was awarded the Robert D. Reif Fellowship in Legal Ethics and Professional Values (“Fellowship”) at a virtual reception on April 22, 2021.

EBG created the Robert D. Reif Fellowship with the assistance of American University Washington College of Law in 2012.  The mission of the Fellowship is to honor the memory of our longtime partner, Bob Reif, by furthering his commitment in the practice of law to maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, fellow attorneys, and the community.

After a review of essays submitted on topics involving legal ethics and professional values, three finalists were interviewed. Alan Grose was chosen by the Selection Committee to receive this year’s Fellowship award of $5,000 for his paper, titled “Professional Ethics in Dark Times: Drawing Lessons from Positivism and the Ambivalent Legacy of Bernhard Loesener,” a government lawyer in Nazi Germany.
