Overview
“Effective employment defense requires more than formidable courtroom advocacy—it demands a proactive partnership. By prioritizing practical strategies and targeted risk reduction, I deliver solutions that help protect my clients' operations and reputational integrity.” —Jennifer S. McGeorge
Employers facing complex wage and hour class and representative actions, high-stakes single-plaintiff disputes, and fast-moving administrative claims turn to Jennifer McGeorge.
A trial-tested, zealous employment litigator, she defends public and private employers in state and federal court trials and appeals, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations across California. Drawing on more than two decades of management-side legal experience, Jennifer brings disciplined case strategy, efficient execution, and business-focused counseling to every matter.
Jennifer’s litigation practice spans wage and hour class actions, representative actions under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and single-plaintiff claims alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and breach of contract. She has secured numerous favorable verdicts and decisions as first-chair counsel in trials, arbitrations, and California Labor Commissioner hearings, and has successfully opposed class certification motions and decertified wage and hour classes. Clients also rely on Jennifer’s preventative counseling on human resources and personnel matters—including discipline and discharge, leaves of absence, disability accommodation, discrimination issues, drug testing, reductions in force, and wage and hour compliance—as well as her drafting of employment contracts, separation agreements, personnel policies, and employee handbooks.
Jennifer’s experience includes significant work for California cities and public entities, as well as companies across industries such as security, senior living, manufacturing, construction, transportation and trucking, insurance, hospitality, entertainment, professional and technical services, and more. This breadth allows her to calibrate litigation and compliance strategies to each client’s risk profile, workforce model, and operational realities.
Jennifer has also served in the Offices of the City Attorney for Sacramento and Glendale, California, where she handled matters such as prosecution of municipal code violations, civil litigation, and advising on employment and municipal law issues—experience that informs her approach to defending employers today.
