Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL (February 17, 2021) – Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce that Robert (“Bob”) R. Hearn has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Health Care & Life Sciences and Litigation & Business Disputes practices. Mr. Hearn represents health care providers and other highly regulated enterprises in litigation, and he counsels his clients in matters regarding regulatory, compliance, and other business and operational concerns. He joins EBG from Phelps Dunbar.
Mr. Hearn defends laboratories and other life sciences companies, clinical research entities, pharmaceutical companies, medical product manufacturers, medical practices, and other health care providers in products liability, death and injury, and commercial litigation. Clients also seek his help on risk mitigation and regulatory and compliance concerns. In addition, Mr. Hearn advises in the laboratory and other provider settings on facility and personnel licensure and certification, billing, compliance, regulatory, and payor-oriented issues.
“Bob is well known for distilling and presenting complex issues to courts and juries, and for bringing sophisticated regulatory counsel to the laboratory, clinical trial, pharmaceutical, and medical products industries,” said Mark Lutes, Chair of EBG’s Board of Directors. “He will be a great resource to our clients throughout the state of Florida and nationally.”
“I look forward to joining EBG’s exceptional team of health care, life sciences, and labor and employment business and law strategists,” said Mr. Hearn. “The Firm’s approach to client service, collaborative culture, and intentional focus made this the perfect next step for my career and a great platform from which I can more fully support my clients.”
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hearn was a law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Pizzo of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, after which he became a partner at a prominent, D.C.-based white collar defense firm. He received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University and his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America’s 2021 guide in the Commercial Litigation category.
