New York, NY (September 16, 2013) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green expands its presence with the recent addition of Alan J. Arville, who joins the firm as a Member in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice.
"We are excited about the possibilities of working with Alan in our ever-expanding national health care practice. He not only brings a wealth of experience to the firm, but also has a skill set that is the perfect complement to the work that we do for our clients. Alan's pharmaceutical industry experience will continue to add strength to our life sciences capabilities," said George Breen, Chair of the firm's National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Steering Committee.
Arville was formerly a Principal at Ober|Kaler, where his practice focused on transactional and regulatory issues for the health care industry, including 340B, Medicare Part D and fraud and abuse compliance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, managed care contracting, tax exemption, and health care licensing. His clients have included regional and national pharmacy chains, health care systems, and long-term care providers.
"Epstein Becker Green's reputation in serving health care industry clients is outstanding," said Arville. "The firm's national health care platform provides me with the resources that I need to better serve my clients. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that health care reform has created for our clients."
A substantial portion of Arville's practice involves structuring, negotiating, and implementing various health care transactions, including hospital-physician joint ventures, 340B contract pharmacy arrangements, and in-store health care retail clinics. Arville regularly advises retail pharmacies (chain and independent pharmacies and retailers with pharmacy operations) on a diverse array of transactions and compliance issues. He also counsels nonprofit governing boards and board committees on tax-exemption law issues, conflicts of interest, bylaws preparation, and general corporate governance. Arville is based in the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
