Newark, NJ (August 30, 2024)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is proud to announce that the New Jersey Law Journal has named EBG as a finalist in two New Jersey Legal Awards 2024 categories:

  • Litigation Departments of the Year, General – EBG
  • Mentors Finalists – Maxine Neuhauser, EBG

EBG's litigation team epitomizes success through a team-oriented approach, focusing on collaboration and the strategic use of individual talents. One of their notable achievements was a $111 million victory over UnitedHealthcare, showcasing their strength in health care litigation. This New Jersey-based team has not only made significant recoveries totaling nearly $1 billion in 2023 alone but has also established a national presence, managing complex cases across the United States.

“EBG’s litigators continue to demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication, and strategic thinking. Our success in high-stakes cases, particularly in the health care sector, sets us apart from all our competitors—in New Jersey and beyond,” said Anthony Argiropoulos, Member of the Firm and Chair of the firm's National Litigation Steering Committee. “It speaks volumes that our Litigation & Business Disputes practice, based out of Princeton and Newark, competes against the largest national law firms and wins.”

“We’re honored to be among the finalists for the New Jersey Litigation Department of the Year award, a testament to our team’s strategic thinking and unwavering dedication,” said James (Jim)  Flynn, Managing Director and Member of the Litigation & Business Disputes practice. “EBG’s litigation department stands out as a leading force in the industry because we are truly client-centric. Our philosophy centers on helping clients handle litigation as a business challenge rather than a distraction. We develop results-oriented strategies that protect clients’ interests while advancing—and never disrupting—their business goals.”

Attorney Maxine (Mickey) Neuhauser, Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice, devotes her practice to counseling and litigation. Among her many contributions to the firm, Mickey was a co-founder of EBG’s Women’s Initiative program which this year proudly celebrated its 22nd anniversary. Whether she’s responding to discrimination, harassment or wrongful termination claims, training in-house teams, or providing day-to-day advice and counsel, her clients and those with whom she works benefit from Mickey’s big-picture perspective and sound guidance.

“During my more than 35-years at EBG I have been supported in nearly every aspect of my career and over the years have endeavored to pay it forward. It has been one of the great pleasures of my career to have helped others achieve success in their own professional lives. I am proud to have been part of EBG’s growth and reputation for excellence. I'm extremely honored to have received this recognition.”

The winners in each category will be announced in person at an event on October 29 at Park Chateau Estate in East Brunswick.
