New York, NY (August 2, 2011) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green today announced that Arthur J. Fried has joined the Firm's Health Care and Life Sciences practice as a member of the Firm in the New York office.
Arthur was previously General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs with the Staten Island University Hospital as well as Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs with the North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System. Arthur represents and advises health care providers, including academic medical centers, hospitals, and faculty practices, in such areas as fraud and abuse and regulatory compliance arising under anti-kickback laws, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act; confidentiality and HIPAA; patient rights; ethics; and governance.

In addition, Arthur was a two-time recipient of Former Vice President Al Gore's "Heroes of Reinvention" Hammer Award for his contributions to a federal government that "works better and costs less." He also served as the U.S. Delegate to the 1999 Rehabilitation International General Assembly in London, England, and was the U.S. Representative to the 7th European Regional Conference of Rehabilitation International in Jerusalem, Israel, which focused on disability rights issues.
