Overview
Alkida Kacani is a skilled attorney who focuses on complex commercial disputes, government investigations, False Claims Act (FCA) litigation, and employment counseling and litigation. She represents health care companies, financial institutions, retailers, and other businesses in all stages of litigation.
Clients value Alkida’s strategic forethought, unwavering consistency, and risk-spotting acumen, which enable her to quickly develop potential solutions to even the most challenging matters.
Alkida litigates commercial and business disputes, including breach-of-contract, construction, real estate, securities, and corporate law disputes, in federal and state courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings. Health care industry clients regularly turn to her to defend them in federal and state investigations and FCA litigation. Employers rely on her for matters involving non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, trade secrets, and unfair competition. Her practical, business-focused approach helps clients minimize business disruptions, anticipate problems, and avoid litigation whenever possible.
Alkida also represents clients in a broad array of employment litigation at the state and federal levels, including cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, and constructive discharge. As a trusted advisor, Alkida counsels clients on implementing employment practices and procedures, such as employee handbooks and stand-alone policies; provides employment training; and conducts investigations when claims of wrongdoing arise in the workplace.
Before joining Epstein Becker Green, Alkida served as a law clerk in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage, a role that gave her valuable insights into the judicial process.
