The federal mental health parity law often has been upstaged by the Affordable Care Act, which was debated and enacted around the same time, but employers may have more reason to pay attention to their mental health benefits now: The federal government is putting a "big focus" on auditing company plans, fueled in part by the creation of Obama's task force, said Kevin Malone, an associate at Epstein Becker & Green who works on health plan compliance.
