Following is an excerpt:
A founding member of the U.S. Attorney's Health Care Fraud Task Force for the Middle District of Florida and longtime Zuckerman Spaeder LLP partner joined Epstein Becker Green to serve as counsel in the firm's healthcare and life sciences practice.
Jack E. Fernandez now serves in Epstein Becker Green's Tampa office, according to the firm's announcement Tuesday. He has more than two decades of experience defending individuals and organizations in white collar criminal matters and civil matters such as False Claims Act investigations, the firm said.
"This was a very difficult offer to pass up, and the more I looked at the depth of Epstein Becker Green's bench, the more I thought this was exactly what I was looking for. Having had the privilege to work for over twenty years with some of the finest lawyers in the country at Zuckerman Spaeder, being able to work with quality lawyers was essential to me," Fernandez said in a statement to Law360 Pulse on Wednesday.
He said, "Epstein Becker Green has the finest healthcare practice in the country and, given Florida is ground zero for healthcare fraud and False Claims Act cases, I could not say no to the flexibility and wonderful opportunity offered to me. The more I get to know the lawyers I am meeting at the firm, the more excited I get about this next chapter." …
