On April 24, 2019, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that the application window for Cohort 2 of BPCI Advanced is now open. Cohort 2 will begin Model Year 3 on January 1, 2020, and represents the last opportunity for providers to join this voluntary alternative payment model. The application period will close on June 24, 2019, at midnight EDT.
BPCI Advanced builds on its predecessor, BPCI Classic, and, like other bundled payment programs, rewards clinicians for improving outcomes and lowering costs.
