Washington, DC (November 14, 2019)- Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that it has bestowed the 2019 Core Values Champion award to three winners.

Two years ago, attorneys and staff worked together to define and express the firm's values, creating a Values Commitment that outlines the intangible qualities of EBG that have shaped our unique culture. (Download the PDF.) To date, we have recognized nearly 200 colleagues throughout the firm for their efforts and contributions to our culture. We call these employees our Values Champions. From these nominations, each year we recognize three annual winners - one Staff, one Associate, and one Member of the Firm. Each winner receives a gift acknowledging their contributions to the firm's culture.

We are pleased to announce that the 2019 Values Champion winners are:

Tracey Jenkins

Tracey, a Word Processor and Evening Receptionist in our Washington, DC, office, was nominated as a Values Champion multiple times this year leading up to our Annual Values Champion Award – and on each occasion it is because of her hard work and dedication to helping others. Tracey constantly exhibits a willingness to learn and contribute to projects in meaningful ways; further, Tracey can make “seemingly daunting tasks do-able and much more enjoyable than they would be normally."

Kathleen Barrett

Since joining the firm, Kathleen, an Associate in our Chicago office, routinely exhibits our Core Values of effective communication, collaboration, and care/respect. She regularly looks for ways to work with others toward client and firm goals, whether it is by presenting her creative thoughts and ideas to the Marketing Department, reaching out to colleagues and staff across offices, or looking to better understand and improve the litigation and technology support processes at the firm.

Jimmy Oh

Jimmy, Member of the Firm in our Chicago office, was nominated as a Values Champion because he takes extra care to make sure his fellow attorneys are provided with professional development and learning opportunities. This commitment to development of self and others was demonstrated earlier this year when he specially organized a training on the best practices and skills for presenting on-camera or in audio webinars to help his fellow Chicago attorneys. In addition, he regularly ensures associates and other non-partner level attorneys are developing their skills and networks by bringing them to client pitches, outings, and networking events.

“We are thrilled to celebrate a second, successful year of recognizing EBG colleagues who are most reflective of the firm’s Values Commitment,” said James P. Flynn, Managing Director of EBG. “Our annual Values Champions have been selected based on genuine and sincere nominations from colleagues at all levels of the firmfor their important role in creating an inclusive, rewarding, and values-based culture at EBG.”
