Nashville, TN (May 1, 2024) Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce that health care transactions and health regulatory attorney Howard T. Wall III has joined as Of Counsel in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wall, who joins EBG’s Health Care & Life Sciences practice, has more than four decades of experience advising large and midsize health care companies as an executive, private practice attorney, general counsel, and consultant. He is poised to assist EBG’s clients in navigating the complexities of business law, health care transactions, and health care regulations (with an emphasis on strategy), and compliance issues.

At EBG, Wall will focus his practice on guiding clients, including private equity firms and health care investors, through the health regulatory issues involved in their strategic decisions and health care transactions. He will also assist clients with all facets of health regulatory due diligence and advise clients on mergers, acquisitions, consolidations, affiliations, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.

“We’re excited to welcome Howard Wall to EBG. His arrival marks another exciting chapter for our growing Nashville office, which remains committed to expanding our health care capabilities and resources to serve clients,” said John C. Tishler, Member of the Firm in Nashville. “Wall is one of the most knowledgeable, well-connected health care attorneys in Nashville, and his advice is sought after by investors in the health care industry. He can leverage EBG’s deep and broad health care experience and bring it to clients that we have not previously served.”

EBG’s clients can turn to Wall for guidance and compliance strategies on state and federal health laws and other regulatory matters. Before joining EBG, Wall worked at four highly successful health care organizations in senior leadership positions, including, most recently, positions as Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at a national provider of home health and home care services to over 60,000 clients in 12 states and as the Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and General Counsel & Secretary of a Tennessee-based operator of non-urban regional health systems, where he led the company’s legal, corporate governance, risk management, clinical quality, human resources, real estate, and acquisition and development activities.

Wall’s contributions extend beyond practicing law. He serves as an adjunct professor of Health Care Administration at Trevecca Nazarene University and is an active member and thought leader in the American Bar Association (ABA). He is also a founding council member and former chair of the ABA’s Health Law Section, a group that currently consists of 8,500 members dedicated to serving members who represent clients in all segments of the health care industry.

“EBG’s growth in Nashville and 50-year legacy in the practice of health care law is attracting many advanced attorneys who want to learn more,” said Wall. “The firm’s significant presence provides a great opportunity to collaborate with my new esteemed colleagues and share my experience more widely. Today’s challenges at the federal and state levels require a new level of strategic considerations, which I’ve seen EBG attorneys accomplish. I am thrilled to bring my perspective and support clients as they pave the way for the future of our health care and life sciences industry.”

His addition continues the firm’s momentum in Nashville and its broader Health Care & Life Sciences practice. He joins on the heels of Wes Scott, a Nashville-based M&A attorney, and the arrival of six health care attorneys in Northern California.
