Companies facing high-stakes business disputes, particularly executive mobility, breach of fiduciary duty, intellectual property, and business divorce-related issues, turn to Carlos Becerra for his skill and creative solutions. An accomplished litigator and strategic advisor, Carlos is known among clients for his readiness to tackle and resolve complex challenges in courtrooms and boardrooms across California and the nation. Also, clients in the health care, entertainment, and financial services industries, and hedge funds and private equity firms, rely on Carlos to serve as their trusted advisor. He provides them with real-time actionable intelligence on regulatory, market, litigation developments, and divisive operational support for key assets.
Carlos brings a distinct business sensibility to his practice because of his work and achievements across many spectrums—as a real estate developer, health care business leader, former private equity executive, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropic leader.
As the National Co-Chair of Epstein Becker Green’s Minority Attorney Forum, Carlos promotes the talents and strengths of racial and ethnic minority attorneys at the firm. He often speaks at associations in Southern California on topics as diverse as health care, employee mobility, harassment, California’s Private Attorneys General Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Earlier in his career, Carlos worked in the private equity area as a Corporate Development Director. He also served as the Executive Director of Freedom Is Not Free, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that aids wounded troops and their families. And Carlos is actively involved in philanthropic community organizations: He helped facilitate and support the turnaround of the Marine Mammal Care Center, a nonprofit animal hospital for stranded marine mammals in Los Angeles County. He was a charter member and founding officer of the now-thriving Ronald McDonald House’s Red Shoe Society, a nonprofit young professional group that supports the Ronald McDonald House (for which he received several public recognitions and an award).
Carlos and his superstar wife, Amber Becerra, Esq., who have two adventurous boys, have had their residential real estate development efforts (which Amber spearheads) featured on HGTV’s House Hunters Renovations and Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa.
