Device industry groups praised the rule. The Combination Products Coalition (CPC) “strongly supports” the use of symbols in labels because symbols will lead to fewer labeling errors and offer several other benefits over the written word, Bradley Merrill Thompson, the group's general counsel, told Bloomberg BNA June 14.
