Good2BSocial Methodology

The Social Law Firm Index rankings are based upon a proprietary methodology developed to assess the effectiveness and success of a firm’s use of digital marketing and social media. Good2BSocial refined its algorithm for this year’s methodology to capture the idea of quality over quantity and client focus. In addition to measuring prowess with reach and engagement, Good2BSocial measures a firm’s presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and SEO. Podcasts were added, as they have grown in popularity. Good2BSocial also assesses thought leadership content on a firm’s website. The thought leadership component allows Good2BSocial to evaluate a firm’s ability to consistently present, communicate, and broadcast its experience across various online media channels.

The ranking for each category is from 1 to 200 and is based upon dozens of unique measures per law firm social media property, aggregated with performance indicators drawn from other digital real estate, including the firm’s corporate website and practice-area microsites. Good2BSocial captured all digital activities across all these platforms for the Am Law 200 firms from April 1 through August 30, 2022. For each medium, Good2BSocial applied measures of reach, engagement, and conversion and scored for the application, or absence, of key best practice indicators.
