This special editorial feature celebrates a diverse array of LGBTQ professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing equality within the workplace and within the New York area.

Crain’s chose Mr. Riehl for his extensive history of professional, civic, and philanthropic achievements, including serving as Board Member and President of the LGBT Bar Association & Foundation of Greater New York (“LeGal”), serving on the Essex County LGBTQ Advisory Board, and most recently starting his tenure as President-Elect of the National Association for Law Placement (“NALP”). Mr. Riehl has held a variety of leadership roles since becoming a NALP member in 2002, most recently serving on the Board of Directors. He is also a founding member and chair of the EBG LGBTQ+ Outreach Group and an active member of EBG’s National Diversity & Professional Development Committee.

In his many years of service, Mr. Riehl’s commitment to improving the administration of the law, advancing the careers of law students and attorneys, and ensuring equality for all has created a positive, lasting impact—both within each of these organizations and throughout the legal industry.

He is a frequent speaker on various topics within professional development and recruiting in the legal industry as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion, specifically addressing issues affecting the LGBTQ community.
