New York, NY (September 22, 2021) – As the workforce continues to evolve, Epstein Becker Green (“EBG”) is pleased to announce recently completed and upcoming updates to the firm’s anti-harassment e-learning training product, “Halting Harassment: Rules of the Road for a Respectful and Inclusive Workplace” (“Halting Harassment”).

Halting Harassment was launched by EBG in August 2018 to assist employers in addressing an influx of anti-harassment training mandates across the country. Since then, Halting Harassment has grown to cover additional training requirements in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, and New York. And with the reputational and financial harm that can result from harassment claims today, the training is beneficial even in locations where employers may not yet have training mandates.

“We saw a real need for our clients to have easy access to interactive, engaging training that they can be confident was developed to meet legal requirements across jurisdictions, while improving employee understanding and workplace culture,” said Susan Gross Sholinsky, Vice Chair of EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice. “And because we constantly keep a pulse on the changing legislative and regulatory developments, we also built our e-learning to be adaptable to new laws and a rapidly shifting workforce, which became even more critical during COVID-19.”

In response to the global pandemic, EBG has refreshed and re-released the “7 Rules of the Road” (“Rules”), a section of the training that is an employee guide for preventing harassment and fostering an inclusive work environment. The Rules include employer- and employee-favorites such as “Rule 1: Don’t Be Creepy” as well as Rules that push trainees to consider their colleagues’ and their own working environments, such as “Rule 6: Put (and Keep) Your Clothes On.” The firm has also rolled out new animated scenarios to address remote and hybrid work environments and specific concerns that may arise in the health care industry.

“The adaptability of our e-learning training has allowed us to listen to client feedback and make other enhancements,” added David W. Garland, Chair of EBG’s Employment, Labor & Workforce Management Practice, “while our diverse team of lawyers and professional staff were making the course even more accessible and inclusive.”

Halting Harassment now includes English-language captions throughout the course, and Spanish-language captions are currently being produced. Additionally, the firm is in the midst of a course refresh to overhaul the visual format and continue to keep learners engaged.
