Employee Benefits in the Cloud and on Social Media
15th Floor Reception
Many organizations are turning to cloud providers to find cost-effective means of storing their group health plan and other plan data. However, because of legal privacy requirements, the ability of cloud vendors to appropriately protect the data stored becomes a top priority for group health plans. This session will discuss the privacy concerns that group health plans have to consider when using cloud vendors for the storage of health plan data—and the impact of the HIPAA Omnibus Rule on those concerns. At the same time that government enforcers are strengthening their enforcement of privacy rules, social media use is expanding. This session will also address the effective and appropriate use of social media in the workplace.
- Questions to ask your cloud vendor about its privacy and security programs
