Leslie Norwalk Joins Epstein Becker & Green as Strategic AdvisorSeptember 17, 2007
Washington (Sept. 17, 2007) — Epstein Becker & Green announced today that Leslie V. Norwalk, formerly Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), has returned to the firm in a new role, providing Epstein Becker & Green and its clients with strategic advice on a wide range of payment, regulation and other health policy issues.
Norwalk served at CMS for nearly six years in a variety of senior positions directing the operations of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. CMS has the second-largest budget outlay in the Federal Government.
Prior to her tenure at CMS, Norwalk practiced law in the Washington, DC office of EBG.
"We welcome Leslie back to EBG in a new strategic advisor role," said Steven Epstein, firm founder. "Her insights into health care policy and federal reimbursement will be extremely valuable to our clients."
Norwalk and her firm, Norwalk and Associates, also will be affiliated with EBG Advisors, Inc., a Washington, DC consultancy that addresses strategy and public policy issues for the health care industry, private-equity and investment firms, and other organizations interested in health care.
"Leslie's presence will strengthen our firm's already prominent health law practice, as it continues to expand," said Doug Hastings, Chair of the firm's Board and its National Health Care and Life Sciences Practice. "Her vast experience at CMS puts her in a position to provide our clients with an in-depth perspective on public health care policy issues and legislation."
"My affiliation with EBG will allow me to couple my knowledge with that of some of the nation's finest health lawyers," said Norwalk. "I'm extremely pleased to be working again with the firm that mentored me when I was just beginning and to provide its clients with advice and strategic direction informed by my years at CMS."
