Epstein Becker Green’s Affinity Groups were created to promote an environment of inclusion by supporting diversity awareness and facilitating the building of relationships through shared interests, experiences, and backgrounds.
Since its founding, Epstein Becker Green has been committed to building on the numbers of women and minority attorneys within our national footprint and throughout the U.S. legal profession. We also recognize the importance of women to business and professional communities. In furtherance of our commitment, the firm launched the Women’s Initiative of Epstein Becker Green in 2002. The mission of the Women’s Initiative is to enhance the careers of professional women by providing opportunities both inside and outside the office to network, share information, acquire skills, and develop rewarding professional relationships. The Disability Resource Group
The Disability Resource Group (“DRG”) was established to provide a forum that builds awareness around disability inclusion and serves as an advocate that advises the firm on how to maintain an inclusive workplace where individuals’ full abilities are valued as part of the firm’s Core Values. Additionally, the DRG raises awareness of workplace issues affecting people with disabilities and discusses how the firm can promote disability awareness.
The LGBTQ+ Outreach Group
The LGBTQ+ Outreach Group was established with the primary purpose of enhancing the recruitment and development of LGBTQ+ attorneys and staff, and fostering a better understanding among all of the firm’s employees of the unique issues facing the LGBTQ+ community. The LGBTQ+ Outreach Group, composed of LGBTQ+ lawyers and staff, as well as their allies and supporters, is dedicated to protecting the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and serving as an advocate for that community within the firm. This group identifies pro bono opportunities and also offers mentoring, training, and opportunities for networking. In addition, this group presents a platform designed to raise awareness and common concerns to firm management in order to make Epstein Becker Green a highly inclusive environment for all of its employees.
The Minority Attorneys Forum
The Minority Attorneys Forum (“MAF”) was created to provide the firm with strategic guidance on promoting and enhancing the talents and strengths of all racial and ethnic minority attorneys at Epstein Becker Green. The MAF identifies strategies that will support diversity efforts through (i) mentorship and networking, (ii) recruitment and retention, and (iii) business development and client outreach. Additionally, the MAF serves as a venue where diverse attorneys can raise topics and discuss ideas that are relevant to their work experiences.
