William J. Milani, a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice in EBG's New York office, was quoted by the Financial Times on April 21, 2007, in a column titled "When Love and Work Collide," concerning employment law issues that can be raised by personal relationships in the workplace.

Milani noted: Employers imposed rules about office romance, and case law evolved forbidding sexual harassment, in part to protect employees from unwanted advances from supervisors. In addition, said Milani, companies worry about supervisors retaliating against subordinates as a result of personal relationship issues, and about potentially costly lawsuits.
