Overview
Attorney Chris Shur brings a client-focused and common sense approach to assisting employers in a wide variety of employment-related matters. He helps management navigate complex federal, state, and local employment laws by providing practical advice and ensuring that their policies and procedures are compliant with applicable laws and best practices.
Clients appreciate his attention to detail and his dedication to solving problems arising from all aspects of the employment relationship. Chris frequently conducts pre-acquisition due diligence to limit exposure to employment-related compliance risks in transactions, including addressing potential wage and hour and independent contractor misclassification. He also assists in representing employers in employment-related litigation involving claims of discrimination and retaliation, wage and hour issues, and breach of employment contracts, in federal and state court and before administrative agencies.
As a law student, Chris served as a legal extern at the New York City Law Department’s Labor and Employment Law Division. In that role, he assisted in drafting motions for cases handled by the Labor and Employment Law Division, helped defend New York City in depositions, and performed research. Chris was also a staff editor of his law school’s Moot Court Honors Society and member of the Labor and Employment Law Society.
Prior to entering law school, Chris was an employee benefits analyst servicing a large corporation.
