Milani Comments on Financial Services Firms’ Failure to Promote Women, Minorities

Employment Law 360

William J. Milani, a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the New York office, was quoted in a February 14, 2007, article in Employment Law 360 that described the biggest trend among the 50 largest financial services firms in the S&P 500 as white-collar workers demanding their dues. The article, "Employment Litigation Trends: Financial Services," examined the increasing number of lawsuits by financial advisors and stockbrokers against big investment firms for overtime pay.

Milani noted that the EEOC had targeted financial services firms over an alleged industry-wide glass ceiling and had concluded that there were few women and minorities in the industry at senior levels. "That's been a real challenge in the industry," according to Milani.
