SIDRA S. GALVIN is an Associate in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the New York office of Epstein Becker Green, focusing on fraud and abuse, health care compliance, and managed care issues.
Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Ms. Galvin received her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, where she was a Filomen M. D’Agostino Scholar for Women and Children and a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar.
During law school, Ms. Galvin interned for the New York State Attorney General’s Office, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, where she assisted white-collar crime attorneys in a $240 million Medicaid fraud trial. Additionally, as a Student Advocate with the NYU Law Reproductive Justice Clinic, she developed a civil rights litigation strategy focusing on health care access for the American Civil Liberties Union’s Reproductive Freedom Project. Ms. Galvin also served as a Student Advocate for the NYU Law Family Defense Clinic and Advanced Family Defense Clinic, as well as a Research Assistant for Professor Stephen J. Schulhofer, a distinguished criminal law scholar and the Robert B. McKay Professor of Law at NYU Law, performing research on emerging state-by-state legal protections for physician-assisted death.
Before law school, Ms. Galvin attended Columbia University, where she received a Master of Arts, summa cum laude, in Human Rights Studies, with a chosen focus on health and human rights. She worked as a Member Services Representative at a technology-focused health insurance company, helping members navigate the U.S. health care landscape. Ms. Galvin also interned at various women’s health and human rights organizations, including Minority Women in Action, a lesbian rights organization located in Nairobi, Kenya. She received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Loyola University Chicago. While at Loyola, she served as a Legal Assistant Intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
