PAUL C. BURKHOLDER is a Senior Attorney in the Los Angeles office of Epstein Becker Green, concentrating in the areas of contracts and commercial litigation. He has more than 30 years of contracts experience as a government attorney, corporate counsel, and attorney in private practice.

Mr. Burkholder:

  • Represents health care providers in regulatory and litigation matters including disputes between health care providers and health care plans
  • Drafts and negotiates licensing, website linking, sponsorship, other Internet related agreements, and vendor contracts for publishers
  • Counsels clients concerning copyright and trademark issues and enforcement actions
  • Advises clients regarding sweepstakes, contests, game promotions, and event agreements
  • Counsels clients with regard to government contract issues

Recent client successes include the following:

  • Epstein Becker Green convinces plan review committee to overturn termination of participating physician group services agreement
  • Prevailed in trial and appellate court with award of attorneys’ fees for entertainment industry publisher in dispute arising from publication of critical film review and contract for promotion of motion picture

Mr. Burkholder served on active duty for four years with the Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps and an additional 24 years in the reserve service focusing on satellite system and launch vehicle contracts. He holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Retired). He served as a Senior Counsel with the Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he was involved in all aspects of government contract litigation, including claims at both the prime and subcontract level and the prosecution and defense of bid protests. During law school, Mr. Burkholder was a law clerk with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
