Kenneth G. Standard, a member of the firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the New York office, was featured with interns of the Kenneth G. Standard Diversity Program in a prominent photo in the July 27, 2007, issue of the New York Law Journal. The photo, captioned "Corporate Internships," was taken during a cocktail and dinner reception that the interns and their hosts attended to commemorate the 2007 diversity program.
The purpose of the Kenneth G. Standard Diversity Intern program is "to increase the representations of lawyers and students from a diverse range of backgrounds in corporate legal departments, and to provide students from a diverse range of backgrounds with an opportunity to experience in-house legal practice," according to the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). This year's sponsors are Oneida, Goldman Sachs and McGraw Hill.
Standard is general counsel to the firm, and heads its national diversity committee, which includes members from each of EBG's 11 offices nationwide. He is a former President of the NYSBA, the largest voluntary state bar association in the country.
