Jennifer Gefsky, Member of the Firm in the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice, in the firm’s New York office, was featured in an interview with All of It, hosted by Alison Stewart, to discuss the launch of her new book, Your Turn: Careers, Kids, and Comebacks - A Working Mother’s Guide.

Following is an excerpt:

In the U.S. today there are more than 50 million employed women with children under the age of 18. That number might be higher if many women didn’t have to leave the workforce and their careers as a result of paltry family leave policies and corporate structures that often work against moms.

Enter Jennifer Gefsky and Stacey Delo who co-founded the company called Après, which helps women reenter the workforce and reignite their professional careers. They’ve written a book called Your Turn: Careers, Kids, and Comebacks - A Working Mother’s Guide, which gives specific tips and insights for women who are considering taking a break, or going part-time, or staying full-time in their careers while having kids, and because in this day and age taking a break for a woman – it isn’t even a choice for many, and they have to find workarounds and make difficult choices because childcare is so expensive.
