HealthLaw360 Profiles EBG ClinTrials Law InitiativeFirm Highlight May 2, 2007
HealthLaw360 profiled the launch of the EBG ClinTrials Law Initiative, by which EBG has become among the first law firms in the country to create a team devoted specifically to solving for clients the wide array of legal issues related to clinical trials of all drugs, medical devices and biological products.
In an article appearing on May 2, HealthLaw360, an Internet-based news publication, quoted Bradley Merrill Thompson, a member of the firm's Health Care and Life Sciences practice who is leading the ClinTrials Law Initiative.
"I spend most of my time working with drug and medical device companies that are developing and commercializing products?...and embedded into that is knowing how to deal with clinical trials issues," Thompson said.
When EBG decided to launch the ClinTrial Law Initiative, the Firm "did a fair amount of research—looking at literature, talking to folks in the industry—to find out what the biggest challenges were in dealing with clinical trials," Thompson said.
"We put together as comprehensive a list as we could develop of all the greatest concerns and then we assembled a team to deal with them," he said. "EBG found that we had a lot of great people inside the firm who knew how to answer many of our clients' questions, and then recruited new people to fill in the gaps in our abilities. We finally completed the group last month."
To add to EBG's existing internal legal capabilities, the Firm has expanded its Team to add still more capabilities in international clinical trials.
