Following is an excerpt:

Gail Javitt has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C., office and will counsel medical device, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biological products, human cellular and tissue-based products and dietary supplement companies about FDA regulations, Epstein Becker Green said in a statement.

Javitt said she was drawn to the firm’s expertise in the life sciences and health care sectors, as well as its “collegial” work environment and flexible rates for some of her smaller clients.

As an FDA regulatory attorney, Javitt said she is able to integrate her background in bioethics and health with her experience legally advising drug and medical device companies.

“Ever since law school, I’ve been really interested in the intersection of science, health policy and society, and law as a discipline seemed like a good way to integrate those different interests of mine,” Javitt said.

She found that FDA regulatory issues in particular were able to combine those various interests.
