Hartford Courant

Dean R. Singewald II, an Associate in the Labor and Employment and Litigation practices in the firm’s Stamford office, was quoted in the Hartford Courant, in “New Rules Call for Heightened Scrutiny of Government Contractors' Pay to Women,” by Mara Lee.

Following is an excerpt:

"It just puts contractors on notice there's going to be a broad review of their compensation practices," said Dean Singewald II, an associate at the Stamford office of Epstein Becker Green, who defends government contractors around the country in Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs reviews. …

Singewald said the biggest contractors are already constantly monitoring their affirmative action compliance.

"Is this going to change the way United Technologies and other large contractors do business? The answer is no," Singewald said. For instance, according to court documents, Pratt & Whitney gave raises to 224 people in 2008, some as large as 20 percent, after a "market equity analysis."
