This Law Firm Publication by Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. discusses the Fair Shot Minimum Wage Amendment Act of 2016, recently unanimously passed by the Washington DC Council. The bill, which Mayor Bowser signed on June 27, 2016, increases the DC minimum wage (already set to increase to $11.50 on July 1, 2016) by additional annual increments until it reaches $15.00 on July 1, 2020. It also increases the tipped minimum wage. Both rates will increase in subsequent years based on cost of living.
