Adam Solander Quoted in Article, “Exchange Regs Could Get States Out of Insurance Selling ?… Before They Get Into It”AIS' Health Plan Week March 19, 2012
Adam Solander, an Associate in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the Washington, DC, office, was quoted in an article titled "Exchange Regs Could Get States Out of Insurance Selling ?... Before They Get Into It."
Following is an excerpt:
For agents and brokers, the rule "not only gives states the option to permit agents or brokers to enroll individuals and employers in QHPs, it allows individuals to have access to information about agents and brokers," notes Solander. The reg allows exchanges to "display information about brokers and agents on their Web site or in other publicly available materials."
When it comes to federal exchange, "The final rule is still more about what we don't know rather than what we know because a majority of states have not taken an affirmative action to establish an exchange," says Solander.
