Edward M. Kennedy, Jr., Member of the Firm, will participate in the panel, “Disability Inclusion: Being an Ally in the Workplace,” at the Women in Bio (WIB) 2021 Virtual International Convention, which runs from June 10 to 18.
This panel will feature disability rights leaders and advocates committed to working with BIO companies as partners in making disability rights and inclusion a priority in the workplace and beyond. This is especially important as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) turned 30 in 2020 during a pandemic that impacted this community of over 60 million Americans. Together, BIO companies and BIO leaders, alongside disability rights advocates and organizations, can help fulfill the promise of the ADA to address unemployment, erase stigma, implement and promote best practices and recruit talent from the disability community. BIO can play a leading role in this community, one that we must empower, support, and stand with if we are to truly embrace diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
