The expanding regulatory framework has created considerable compliance challenges for HIPAA covered entities and their business associates. Requirements including data breaches and accounting for disclosures and anticipated privacy and security audits are just a few of the complex issues that must be routinely addressed. These challenges, coupled with increased government enforcement, make it imperative for HIPAA covered entities and their business associates to understand the regulatory obligations and the attendant risks of non-compliance. This program will discuss practical solutions for furthering HIPAA compliance, including privacy and security risk assessments to protect the entities from breaches of protected health information (PHI).

Epstein Becker Green was the first law firm to be designated by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) as a Common Security Framework (CSF) Assessor, which designation is accepted by the health care industry as the most widely adopted security framework.

You should attend this program if you are an administrator, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, compliance officer, privacy professional, security professional, information technology professional or in-house attorney of any covered entity, including an academic medical center, ambulance provider, clinical laboratory, DMEPOS supplier, hospital, long-term care facility, health plan, MA Plan, Part D Plan, pharmacy, physician group, skilled nursing facility, or other health care provider.
