New York, NY (March 23, 2023)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) pleased to announce that Susan Gross Sholinsky, Cassandra Labbees, and Delia Deschaine, Members of the Firm, have been selected as “Top Women Faculty” by Lawline for their thought leadership on the platform in 2022 relating to the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision and the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Mses. Sholinsky, Labbees, and Deschaine provided a timely update on state abortion laws in the wake of the Supreme Court's groundbreaking decision, and the fall-out of that decision, including the myriad state laws that criminalize the provision of abortion care, give a private right of action to individuals against persons who aid and abet that care, as well as opposing state “safe-haven” laws.  They discussed the impact that these laws have on employee benefit programs and employer policies and procedures, as well as some of the related legal and constitutional issues, including ERISA preemption, jurisdiction, and general principles of criminal accessory liability.

Lawline users praised the “diversity of their practice backgrounds to bring a well-rounded view of the impact of this decision on employers and employee benefits generally.”

According to Lawline, this year's list of Top Women Faculty includes accomplished women from a variety of practice areas and backgrounds, each with unique perspectives and experiences to share with the Lawline audience. In addition to their numerous achievements, honors, and recognitions, the Top Women Faculty list recognizes women for taking time out of their busy careers to share their insights with the legal community.
