Epstein Becker & Green name partner Steven B. Epstein has been selected to receive Columbia University's Alumni Medal, in recognition of his significant contributions over many years to one of the country's leading institutions of higher education.

Columbia University annually bestows Alumni Medals on individuals for noteworthy accomplishments on behalf of the University. The Medal, first awarded in 1933, recognizes alumni for distinguished service of 10 years or more to the University.

Mr. Epstein, a 1968 graduate of Columbia University Law School, serves as Chairman of the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors. "He has provided guidance and leadership to the Law School through the terms of two deans," the University said. "He was asked to chair the board when new energy was needed. In this connection, Epstein has spearheaded an overhaul of the Board that promises to ensure it will play a vital role in the life of the Law School." Mr. Epstein has encouraged Board members and all Alumni to actively participate in and donate to the Law School to help maintain its status as one of the leading law schools in the country. Mr. Epstein will teach a course in health law at the Law School next fall.

Mr. Epstein's "many important and helpful contributions over the years have enriched our University and faculty, student and alumni life on our campus,?" the University said when notifying Epstein of the honor.

The Columbia University honor will be presented to Mr. Epstein at the University's Commencement, Wednesday, May 16, at the University's campus in New York.
