The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has posted the new Form I-9 on its website (www.uscis.gov/i-9). Employers must begin using the new form for all Form I-9 verifications or re-verifications occurring on or after April 3, 2009. Previous versions of Form I-9, in English or Spanish, are no longer valid after that date. Employers still using the old forms after April 3, 2009 will be subject to applicable penalties and fines.
