Lynn Shapiro Snyder, a Senior Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences Practice in the Washington, DC office, was quoted by the Baltimore Examiner on why Israeli biotech companies have been looking to do business in Maryland.
The article covered the fifth annual MarketReach America conference, hosted by the non-profit Maryland/Israel Development Center at Johns Hopkins University. The conference serves to bring together rising Israeli biotech enterprises with Maryland’s leading bioscience executives and researchers.
This year, a dozen Israeli companies attended, and 80 Maryland bioscience and investment groups.
In the article, titled, “Israeli Biotech Firms Look to Expand Business is Maryland,” Snyder noted that when biotech companies consider expanding into America, they are not only looking for an FDA approval.
“This is one of the leading high-tech corridors in the health care industry,” Snyder said. “When these companies are established, they know just selling their product isn’t going to be enough.”
