Following is the abstract:
This Law Firm Publication by Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. discusses proposed regulations recently published by the New York State Department of Labor about the expanded categories of permissible wage deductions under Section 193 of New York Labor Law. Among other things, the proposed regulations clarify permissible and prohibited wage deductions, and specify procedures and notice requirements for recovery of overpayments. The proposed regulations were subject to public comment through July 6, 2013 and will become effective whenever they are published at 12 NYCRR 195 (replacing the current 12 NYCRR 195).
