New York, NY (December 1, 2022)Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is proud to announce that Peter (Pete) A. Steinmeyer and Steven (Steve) M. Swirsky, Members of the Firm, will be joining the Advisory Board of Thomson Reuters Practical Law’s Labor & Employment Service for a two-year term beginning on January 1, 2023.  In this advisory capacity, Pete and Steve will partner with Practical Law’s attorney editors to identify practice trends and analyze cutting-edge legal concepts.

“I look forward to working with this esteemed group of attorney authors and editors to help inform Practical Law’s Labor & Employment offerings, particularly as they pertain to employee mobility and restrictive covenants,” Pete said.

A trade secrets and employee mobility attorney—when highly valuable employees move from one company to another—Pete works with employers to protect their most valuable data, trade secrets, and customer relationships. Outside of his employee mobility practice, Pete guides employers in responding to a wide variety of workplace challenges, including discipline and discharge. He also leads investigations of alleged workplace misconduct, such as harassment, retaliation, and disloyalty. Earlier this year, he co-launched Spilling Secrets, a podcast series on the future of trade secrets and non-compete law.

“Practical Law is an important resource that countless attorneys utilize to stay up to date on the most current trends, topics, and technology that is relevant to their practice, and I am eager to lend my hand in helping guide these resources as they pertain to traditional labor relations matters,” Steve said.

Steve has devoted his practice almost exclusively to advising and representing employers in complex labor relations matters and litigation. He represents clients in collective bargaining and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, in transactions involving the sale and acquisition of unionized businesses and operations, and in organizing campaigns. He also aids employers in developing and implementing strategies to remain union-free.

Pete and Steve’s selection to serve on the Advisory Board is a testament to their standing in the legal community and impressive accomplishments in the field of labor and employment. Both have been cited among some of the legal community’s greatest honors: The publication Best Lawyers in America© named Pete "Lawyer of the Year" for Employment Law–Management (Chicago) for 2023; Steve has been named to Best Lawyers’ list (Employment Law—Management and Labor Law—Management) for the last 18 years.
