Michael Kun, a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice, in the Los Angeles office, was featured in a column discussing Epstein Becker Green's new Wage & Hour Guide for Employers app.
Following is an excerpt:
Who wants to plant electronic vegetables when there are legal issues to investigate? Epstein Becker Green used this all-time high in wage-hour lit and agency investigations to launch an iPhone and iPad app: Wage & Hour Guide for Employers. EBG national wage and hour chair and app co-creator Michael Kun tells us they saw 400 downloads on the first day alone and 25-35 more each day. He recently won precedent-setting cases in wage-hour lit such as Aerotek and Maximus, and says this app sets the precedent for further ones the firm will make available to clients. In fact, he predicts that in 10 years, law firms may even not have libraries.
With wage-hour class actions and collective actions booming (though they were virtually nonexistent 15-20 years ago), EGB already gives clients a physical wage-hour guide, but this high-tech version will be updated regularly and doesn't require lugging around printed material. Michael, though, would be miffed if books and libraries did go out of style: he moonlights as an author and publishes his sixth novel in a few weeks.
