Epstein Becker Green’s 50-State Survey of Telemental/Telebehavioral Health (2016) was cited in mHealth Intelligence, in “Telepsychiatry Opens a New Window into Behavioral Healthcare.” The survey, which was co-authored by Amy F. Lerman, a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the firm's Washington, DC, office, provides a detailed analysis of the laws, regulations, and regulatory policies impacting telemental health in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“Telemental health has gone mainstream,” reads a report issues in 2016 by the national healthcare law firm Epstein Becker Green. The 602-page report analyzes each state’s telemental health capabilities, while arguing that telemedicine is the ideal platform for addressing the needs listed above.

Yet the report also notes that mental health providers – psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and others in the field – face significant challenges in using telemedicine.
