Carrie Valiant, a health-care attorney with Epstein Becker & Green PC, Washington, said there's substantial momentum within Congress to repeal or trim the Stark law.
“With former Rep. [Pete] Stark no longer in Congress and a Republican majority, there could be a sympathetic audience for the substantial administrative costs of Stark contract compliance and perhaps even greater acceptance of physician investment capital as important to the growth of health care,” Valiant said.
