More on FDA: Epstein, Becker & Green lawyer Brad Thompson noted that, “having FDA involved would give hospitals greater assurance,” but that their authority was limited to safety-and-efficacy issues. That is, they can only ensure that devices are secure insofar as cybersecurity flaws impact the device’s performance. Other dimensions of security aren’t under agency purview.
